Diaphragm pumps are positive displacement pumps that utilize reciprocating motion to drive a flexible diaphragm, thereby conveying fluids. They primarily consist of a drive end, a hydraulic end, and a diaphragm assembly. The drive mechanism drives a piston or plunger in a reciprocating motion; through hydraulic fluid or a direct mechanical connection, this causes the diaphragm to bulge toward the pump chamber, creating a vacuum that draws in fluid. During the reverse stroke, the diaphragm squeezes the fluid out. This “suction-discharge” cycle forms the basis for continuous fluid conveyance. These pumps are widely used across various industries, including oil and chemical processing, environmental water treatment, food and pharmaceuticals, and mining and metallurgy.
